The
14th
Hole
|
Men:
118m par 3, rated 17
Ladies: 120m par 3, rated 17 |
|
After the potential horrors of the 13th, the short par
three 14th looks like a pussycat, and it often proves to
give up birdies.
But it can also add a 6 or 7 to the card!
|
|
The
Equal Opportunity Commission may argue that the 14th
discriminates against the ladies, being 2m longer for
ladies than men.
However, the ladies have the advantage of
being able to see the green.
The
mens' tee, right, offers a
blind tee shot over the trees.
|

|
|

|
Again,
a straight tee shot is an absolute requirement.
Bunkers
are strategically placed to the left and right of the
green.
And
when the big tree on the right comes into play, it often
leaves an impossible task to get the second
on the green. |
|
Tee
shots which overshoot the back to front sloping green also
present problems, with a tricky lob from poor lies and
bushes onto the downslope requiring the most delicate
touch.
Once on the green, the slope from back to front and
left to right puts a premium on putting skills. |
